Step by step

1. Pick a secret rule. One player is the judge and secretly decides what can come to the island. For example: the word starts with the letter B, has two syllables, or is a kind of animal.
2. Give the first clue. The judge opens with "I'm going to the island and I'm bringing a ___" and names one thing that fits the rule. That is everyone's first clue.
3. Take turns guessing. Going around the group, each player asks "Can I bring a ___?" The judge answers yes if it fits the rule, or no if it does not.
4. Keep adding clues. Each time it comes back around to the judge, they name another thing that fits, so the list of things on the island keeps growing.
5. Crack the rule. On your turn you can guess the rule instead of bringing something. The first player to guess the secret rule wins, then the judge role passes to the next player.

Playing against the computer (Vs CPU)

It brings one thing that fits to start you off, then adds a fresh clue every round. On your turn you pick something to bring and the game sorts it for you: things that fit land on the island, everything else is left behind. Pass and play with friends

In Pass & Play mode a real person is the judge. The app helps the judge pick a fun rule (or make up their own) and keeps it secret, then gets out of the way so the round can move fast out loud. Everyone takes a turn as the judge, in order, so the whole group gets to play both sides.

Tip: start with an easy rule and save the sneaky ones for players who have caught on. The best rules feel obvious in hindsight but take a few rounds to spot.

• Couples and date night. With two people you take turns being the judge. Sneaky, personal rules make it extra fun, like "things we have at home" or "things from our first date."
• Big group or party. Everyone on one device, going around the circle. The judge rotates each round so nobody is stuck just watching.
• With kids and families. Start with easy rules like a starting letter or a category. It is a sneaky way to practice letters, sounds, and categories, and it needs no equipment, so it is perfect for car rides and waiting rooms.
• Solo against the computer. No group? Play Vs CPU. The computer keeps the secret rule and drops a clue each round while you try to crack it in as few guesses as possible.
• Make it a challenge. See who can crack the rule in the fewest tries, or who can stump the group with the trickiest rule.

If you are the judge

• Open with a clear example that obviously fits, so guessers have a real starting clue.
• Drop a fresh clue every round to keep things moving.
• Apply the rule the same way every time. Consistency is what makes the puzzle fair.
• If everyone is stuck, choose your next clue to point them in the right direction.

If you are guessing

• Bring opposites on purpose to test a theory. If you think it is "starts with S," try a word that does not, and see what happens.
• Watch what gets left behind as closely as what gets in. The "no" pile is just as much of a clue.
• Say your theory out loud before you commit. Sometimes a teammate spots the flaw.
